I’m not too sure what made me come up with that name…but as I was editing the photos for this post (which I apologize for being not the best ever), I realized that I should probably have some sort of nice, endearing name for my make up kit. But I don’t. I never even considered having one. Until I looked at this and thought, “Well, if I have to call it anything, I’m going to go with pink elephant for now.” And so it shall be named.
This is my make-up kit which I have had maybe 2 months. Before I go on too far, let me preface this post by saying that I actually do not wear all that much makeup. I don’t put on a pound of foundation in the morning and most days, can do my makeup in less than 5 minutes. But I have come to discover recently (via some fun vloggers on YouTube) that I can actually create the sexy looks like smokey eyes without too much effort. Because in the past, I just didn’t even know where to start when it came to makeup. And I’m not really one to try something out randomly because I do not enjoy looking like a clown.
Since I like how I look when I’m all gussied up, I needed a way to organize my makeup so that I could actually find what I needed to create the looks. Let’s be honest — it doesn’t take long for a girl to go from barely any makeup to a trunk full…and you don’t have to spend a fortune either.

I have to say that this kit is totally cool. It has spaces for everything you could ever need and then some. I can keep all the different types of makeup and brushes separated which really makes it a lot quicker to make yourself look marvelous every day. I tried to achieve the same thing with little pouches before I got this box and it was a disaster. Things were trying to spill out everywhere, I had about 10 of them bulging with stuff and had to rummage through everything to find what I needed. Horrible.

Instead of boring you with all the details of each compartment (unless you want to hear them), I figured I’d show you a couple of my favorite things in my kit. One of them is this little trio of eye shadows that totally rock for smoking your eyes. I actually use a fourth really light color in addition to these three, but these are the colors that really make the magic happen. That shimmery grey in the middle totally rocks.

And then there’s something I have not had the pleasure of using yet, because I’m not really sure how one goes about wearing purple eye shadow these days. But the color is so awesome (I also have a lip gloss this color) that I just had to get it. I’m sure I can figure it into some sort of smokey look eventually.
